Vertigo can’t seem to get enough of the YKB boys. We went along to their album launch for Ragged & Ecstatic and got Stephanie King to capture the moment.

The Sneeze is the first production from Sydney theatre company Theatre Forward, a collaboration between the five graduates of the 2008 NIDA Directors course, and the production is described as an experiment in theatre. Taking the play The Sneeze, written by Michael Frayn from a number of Anton Chekhov’s short comedies, each of the five directors rehearsed parts of the show in isolation for three days and then the company came together and created the performance from the results. The show they have created is very funny but not entirely satisfying.

“After these first couple of shows, then I’ll be a man,” jokes Sean Cook, bass player for Brisbane band Yves Klein Blue. His up coming 21st birthday happens to coincide with the release of their debut album ‘Ragged and Ecstatic’.

The Little Dog Laughed is a story of love weaved and wiped clean to fit inside a Hollywood box of perfection. The cynicism and satire of this play is starkly contrasted to the sadness of the ending, not at all resembling a children’s nursery rhyme, but instead portraying the harsh reality of sacrifice Hollywood-style.
